As you plan activities this season remember that some times your pet may need their vacation or down-time too. Let us help provide a relaxing time for your pet (we accept cats, dogs, even rabbits) to enjoy our comfortable country setting. Our affordable rates, a clean sanitary environment, and a caring staff all serve to give our guests a wonderful experience.
Caring for your pets like they were our very own since 1969.
Honeycrest Kennel has been family owned and operated since 1969 providing long and short-term boarding for small pets. Located between Alliance and Salem Ohio along SR14A, Honeycrest offers a clean and quiet country environment for your pet. We feature heated buildings with indoor-outdoor runs, a dedicated building for cats, limestone gravel surfaces that are more sanitary and easy on the feet, and a level of personal care that reflects our concern for your pet.
Hours of operation (during which time we accept pets for drop-off or pick-up) are from 8-10 AM and 4-6 PM on Monday through Saturday. While we continue our normal care and feeding routines on Sunday and major holidays, we are not open for pet drop-off or pick-up on those days.
Your pet is welcome to bring their own toys and treats, but not their blankets or pillows (we will provide clean rugs for each run). Your dog will need to bring proof of vaccinations (copy of record, receipts, etc) on their first visit and they need to be on some form of flea control (e.g. Advantage). We want our dog-guests to have current shots for Rabies, Parvo, Distemper, and Kennel Cough (aka Bordetella). We want our cat-guests to have current shots for Rabies, Feline Lukemia and Feline Distemper. We feed high quality Purina brand food to all our guests, but if your pet wants to bring their own food we will serve it at no extra charge. We can administer most pet medicines, but there is a $1/day charge for medication. You may want for smaller pets from the same family to be double bunked (sharing the same run), just let us know if they like to stay together.
Boarding rates do vary slightly based on breed and size: $16/day for small/medium dogs, $17/day for the larger breeds (e.g. Mastiffs, Danes, Wolfhounds, some big shepherds, etc.) and $10/day for cats. Rates are based on a full boarding day defined by drop-off and pick-up times (e.g. drop of on Monday morning and pick up on Thursday morning would count as a 3-day stay). Please feel free to call or email with other questions, we look forward to hearing from you, and meeting your family!
We regret any difficulty this may cause our clients, but credit card fees wouldn't allow us to keep our rates low.
